lonesome_river_band_sandlin_gaither_banner3cLonesome River Band has traveled all across the country, but Ohio is one of the members’ favorite places to stop. “Ohio has always been a great state for us” banjo player Sammy Shelor said. “There’s always been a great bluegrass following.” Members of the group are looking forward to coming to Newark on Saturday and performing at the first Bluegrass on Main Street festival, taking place just west of the Licking County Courthouse Square. “It’s going to be a high-energy show,” Shelor said. “We pick up on the energy of the crowd. The more energetic they are, the more energetic we are going to be.”
