LRB is in the studio this week working on a new cd scheduled to be released in May 2010 on Rural Rhythm Records. We finished laying down the start of the 10th track in the early a.m. this morning. We have made alot of progress in the past two days. The CD is being recorded at Mountain Fever Studios in Willis VA. Will keep you updated on the progress.

Charlie Hall (WCYOfm.com & worldwidebluegrass.com) has chosen “Them Blues” as his #2 Song of the Year for 2009! Thanks Charlie!

Congratulations to Brandon Rickman! His album, “Young Man, Old Soul” was named in KSON Radio’s (San Diego) Top 50 Bluegrass CDs of 2009.“. The album was also named in Roughstock.com’s 30 BEST COUNTRY ALBUMS OF 2009!

“I’m Not There Yet” from the album “NO TURNING BACK” was #1 last week on Sirius-XM Bluegrass Junction’s Top 40 Songs and Lonesome River Band the #3 on the Top 40 Artists!

LRB opened the 2009 IBMA Awards Show at the Ryman Auditorium October 1, 2009 with a spectacular performance! 

Sammy Shelor was inducted into the Virginia Music Hall of Fame Friday, September 18, 2009 during the Association’s 10th Annual Jumpin’ Bluegrass Festival held at the Chesterfield, Virginia County Fairgrounds.  Shelor joins a long list of previous Hall of Famers including: Roy Clark, Mother Mabelle, Mac Wiseman, Statler Brothers, Patsy Cline, Tony Rice, Bill Yates, Larry Stephenson and many other talented artists. “I’m honored to be recognized by the Virginia Music Hall of Fame and my home State of Virginia,” said Shelor. read more 

Lonesome River Band will be making the trip to Nashville for the IBMA Convention and FanFest September 30th thru October 4th, 2009 and we hope to see you there.  Please check out tour schedule for appearances during the week including our performance at the 2009 IBMA Awards Show at the Ryman Auditorium on Thursday, October 1st.

LRB has a lot to celebrate these days as their current Rural Rhythm Records album, “NO TURNING BACK” remains the #1 ALBUM on July’s Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine (BU) Top 15 album chart marking the third consecutive month holding the #1 spot!  The band is also celebrating the #1 SINGLE, “Them Blues” on the July Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine  Top 30 Singles Chart.  Yet another single, “Like a Train Needs a Track,” climbs again reaching #19 on the same chart.  Read more
